THANK GOD WE DON'T LOOK LIKE WHAT WE'VE BEEN THROUGH!

Elizabeth pearl neck
dangling under the umbrella of  24inches Cambodian hair
glass slide dotless face
relentless effort of Avon concealer
finished artwork of Tara brushes
by Iman face cake and Ruby Woo lippie
all fingers engaged by Primark knuckle rings
Gucci shades the eyes from sun
angelic white Forever 21 dress clothes the naked scene
Louis Vuitton is the purse, Annie Michelle is the nude heels
scenting from the ear corners spells Lady Million by Pacco Rabanne
corset that train the waists
butt pads that mold the gluteus
perfect cured fingers and toes all polished red
whispers GLAMOROUS!

Alas!
who hears the tears gulped down
who sees the map of slaps and punches
who sees the scar of handcuffs
around the Espirit watch wrist
who sees the whip prints deep on the back
who sees the laden of needs weighing down the shoulders
who sees the horror of lust lining the black eye make-up
who hears the insults and curses blaring loud from behind

Quilox lock down!
10 caskets of Ace of Spade
stream of Don Perignon
ocean of Moet & Chandon
Versace luggage and kilogram gold chain
diamond crested Rolex
customized iGadgets
first class trip to and fro the Emirates
Benz plate number counts the fifth auto
that’s some real McCoy dude with an hash tag

who sees the sweats
who stays up the vigil
you know what ha mean

Selfie with the boo
boat cruise with the day one babe
photo bombed by the lover
#MCM/WCW all time
inseparable duo, love you long way
woke up like this with the bae
Y’all know those love tags on Instagram

who knows other boos
who stays the heated argument
who hears the door bangs
who hears the disconnected lines
who sees the spite and hate
who dries the damped pillows
who hears the sighs and sobs…..

Stretchy green veins and dazed eyes
hot temples of the head and cold limbs
itchy skin and trembling fingers
stained teeth and patched feet
coarse voice and oozing buccal
blame the drunk and curse the drugs
Junkie is what you see….!

who sees the lone soul
who feels the emptied spirit
who stood the grief
who dug the grave
who sees the strands of truth
who sees purity through the haze
who once read the open book…..

Pale face and mute lips
virgin hair and unpierced ear lobes
innocent body all wrapped in skirts
serene voice like infant’s cackle
Godly smile like sunset….

who sees the shielded mind
who sees the ripping flesh
who sees the abused…..

Hope these entire phrases sum up to make a meaning to you?

Oya!
Blue lens
Pierced nose
Glossy lips
Emerald green ring
Yellow pawpaw girl
What do you see…? Lol

Can bet I don’t look one millionth of what I’ve been through. Let’s thank God

  3. Yet another lovely piece from the stables of Miss Saheedah.

We sure all got some battles we are masquerading from the rest of the World. A typical example is Rio Ferdinand - who woulda thought he had a wife who was dying of cancer with the kinda persona he put up in the public and social media? We can only hope and pray our struggles don't become our identity.

  4. I saw me vividly in the writeup! The particular paragraph where I am portrayed is what I'd rather not say. Great piece as usual b
